Beurer is a German family-owned company that manufactures a variety of health and wellness equipment. The company was founded in 1919 in Ulm, Germany, and initially produced only electric blankets. The company gradually expanded its operations in the 1980s, launching a more diverse product line. Today, Beaver Industrial Group is one of the market leaders in the production of various types of blood pressure monitoring equipment, scales, body thermometers, electric blankets, nebulizers, air purifiers and humidifiers. Beaver now produces more than 2,200 different types of products. The company had more than 800 employees in 2006 and a revenue of about $ 230 million. Beaver has ceased production in Germany for several years and has instead moved its product line to Hungary as well as to East Asian countries.
